6. ISKCON MAYAPUR :

Mayapur is located on the banks of the Ganges river, at the point of its confluence with the Jalangi, near Navadvip, West Bengal, India, 130 km north of Kolkata (Calcutta). The headquarters of ISKCON are situated in Mayapur and it is considered a holy place by a number of other traditions within Hinduism, but is of special significance to followers of Gaudiya Vaishnavism as the birthplace of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, regarded as a special incarnation of Krishna in the mood of Radha. It is visited by over a million pilgrims annually.
he headquarters of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) has been located in Mayapur since the 1970s. In addition, there are a number of other Gaudiya Vaishnava organisations in Mayapur, such as the Gaudiya Math. The town is heavily centered around this particular Vaishnava religious tradition, officially known as the Brahma-Madhva-Gaudiya Sampradaya, with temples devoted to Radha and Krishna or Gaura-Nitai throughout; however, there is a sizable Muslimpopulation in the historical center, previously called Miyapur.

IMAMBARA

7. IMAMBARA, HOOGHLY :

Hooghly Imambara is a mosque cum imambara in Hooghly, West Bengal.[1] The construction of the building was started by Muhammad Mohsin in 1841, which completed in 1861.[2] The building is a two storied structure, which a tall clock tower over the entrance gate.[1] The mosque within the complex has intricate designs and texts from Quran engraved on the wall. The interior of the mosque is decorated with marbles, candles and hanging lanterns.

8. PARESHNATH JAIN TEMPLE:

Calcutta Jain Temple (also called Parshwanath Temple) is a Jain temple at Badridas Temple Street is a major tourist attraction in Kolkata (Calcutta), India. The temple was built by a Jain named Rai Badridas Bahadoor Mookim in 1867. Pratishtha was done by Sri Kalyansurishwarji Maharaj.[1][2][3]

The complex is subdivided into 4 temples:
• Shitalnath Ji Temple : Mulnayak : Shitalnath Bhagwan.
• Chandraprabhu Ji temple : Mulnayak : Chandraprabhuswami Bhagwan.
• Mahavir Swami Temple : Mulnayak : Sri Mahavir Swami.
• Dadawadi : Footprints of Jain Acharya Jin Dutt Kushal Suri.

The temple is dedicated to Pareshnath, who was the 23rd Jain Tirthankar, and he is worshipped by the Jains, and this is one of the most important Jain temples in Kolkata. The place is famous all over that is why devout Jains from distant parts of India flock to the Temple precincts al round the year. The temple consists of four temples inside of it. The deity of Lord Shitalnathji is seated in the sanctum sanctorum, and his diamond-studded forehead is a major attraction for the visitors. There is a lamp, which burns with ghee inside the sanctum sanctorum, which has been continuously burning ever since the initiation of the temple since 1867. The lamp bears silent testimony to the contemporary world since ages and it is wonderful to acknowledge the mysticism associated with.
The Pareshnath Jain Temple, Kolkata, has displays of exquisite designs and it is an impressive structure consisting of mirror-inlaid pillars and windows that have made of stained glass. The interiors of the temple are splendidly beautiful, along with the outdoors, which are surrounded with many beautifully colored flower gardens and fountains. There is a small stream flowing through it, which also has amazing variety of flowers all around it. The fountains look brilliant when water gushes out of them in perfect harmonization. A well-maintained reservoir, adds up to the surrounding beauty. Colorful fishes swarm the surface of the glistening water at the slightest hint of food grains. The floor of the temple is elaborately paved with marble that gives it a solemn look and also a mark of purity. The temple exhibits extraordinary artistic tendencies that are visible in the whole pattern of the decoration of the interiors and the exteriors. One can also find the paintings of renowned painter Ganesh Muskare, adorning the walls, which enthralls the visitor. Chandeliers or Jhar Battis are another feature that makes the interiors sparkle and lends the extra shimmer to the serenity of the temple.

9. Magen David Synagogue:

Calcutta Magen David Synagogue, located on Jewish Synagogue Street is one of the oldest pilgrimage destinations in the city. Its foundation was laid by Elias David Joseph Ezra, paying tribute to his dear father. Maghen David synagogue of Kolkata, India was made open for public visit in the year 1884. It is one of the finest synagogues in Kolkata. Lighted by gas, Magen David Synagogue provides an excellent view of this hub city.

Calcutta St. John's Church is located on the Council House Street beside B.B.D. Bagh. The flooring of the church is done with stones obtained from different places. Owing to this fact, it is also sometimes referred to as the stone church. Its architecture represents Greek designing. There is a lot to explore in the St. John church of Kolkata, India.
